Today There Are More Variations of Car Races Then Ever Before!!

Check out these different types of car races.

Stock Car Racing has become one of the most popular sports in North America. With over 30 different racetracks, Nascar has attracted millions of fans. http://www.nascar.com

Nascar also operates the Nascar Craftsman Truck Series. Similiar to Nascar, the Nascar Craftsman Truck Series has grown into a large scale series with fans all across North America. With support from Ford, Dodge, Chevrolet and Toyota, the Craftsman Truck Series is very competitive. http://www.nascar.com/series/truck/

Indy Racing has continued to attract lots of attention throughout North America. Races are held on both race tracks and road courses. Champ Car World Series races take place in major cities such as Toronto, Mexico City and Las Vegas. http://www.champcarworldseries.com

Drag Racing has always attracted lots of attention due to its spirited action and consistent competition. The National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) has grown to include 7 divisions and a variety of vehicle classes. http://www.nhra.com

Formula 1 racing has grown into a true international sport with car races in countries such as China, France, Australia, Brazil, Canada and the United States amongst others. Although it has gained a global presence, most of its fan base resides in Europe. http://www.formula1.com

Although not as popular as other forms of racing, Sprint car racing is very competitive and requires both skill and endurance from the participating teams. Unlike conventional car races, Sprint car races are held on dirt tracks that require the drivers to balance speed and control. http://www.scra.com

Rally racing has grown in popularity throughout Europe through the World Rally Championship (WRC). Races are held on a variety of surfaces such as dirt, mud, snow, and asphalt. Races take place in a variety of countries such as Greece, Great Britain, Finland, France, Spain, and Turkey. http://www.wrc.com

Drift racing has only recently exploded in popularity in North America. Although it originates in Asia, its North American home would be in California. Attracting mostly younger people, drifting is unlike other automotive sports because drivers go on the track one at a time and are judged by a panel of judges. http://www.drifting.com
